Leaves are falling and temperatures are dropping—unless, of course, you’re in Texas. Can you believe we’re quickly heading into the last quarter of 2024!? Before we know it, the hot new topic will be all about 2025.
Now is the perfect moment to reflect on your 2024 goals before planning for next year. Are you where you thought you would be right now, or are you far from it? Either way, the first step in growth is facing the reality of our current situation. This month, take the time to revisit your 2024 goals and ask yourself these tough questions without judgement:
- Have you hit 75% or more of your goals?
- Are your goals still attainable?
- Do you need to slightly modify your goals to hit them before the end of the year?
- Are you managing your work-life balance?
- Have you received feedback from peers or mentors?
- What achievements have you celebrated?
- What mistakes have you learned from?
- How well are you managing your time and resources available to you?
- Are your goals still important to you? If so, why are these goals still important to you?
Additionally, I strongly suggest you ask yourself broader questions about your career and profession to help you gain a fuller perspective:
- Do you feel like you are making a difference in your position? /Does your job provide you with purpose?
- Are you fulfilled and happy in your current role?
- Do you feel valued by your company? Why/Why not?
- What are your strengths and weaknesses?
- What new skills have you learned this year?
- Have your priorities changed?
- Is there anything that scares you in your career?
- What job would you like to do for the foreseeable future that wouldn’t feel like working?
After evaluating your specific goals for this year alongside your broader career outlook, you should have a solid roadmap to finish the year strong. This approach will not only help you achieve your current objectives but also set you up for success when you are looking to build next year’s goals and initiatives (If you need a tip for building 2025 goals, check out our guide on how to boost your career).
Cheers to continued growth and success!
