JOB APPLICATION TRACKING IS CRUCIAL. CREATE AN ORGANIZATION SYSTEM FOR KEEPING TRACK OF YOUR JOB APPLICATIONS!
Keeping track of the date, company, role, status, and who you’ve talked to can be extremely helpful! Things can get a little blurry when you’re applying for a lot of roles in a short period of time, and occasionally it can take a while for a company to get back to you, so having a reference guide like this can help keep you organized. It’s a simple idea that’s easily implemented, but one that’s importance can often be overlooked.
Medical Affairs is a VERY small world! Another benefit to keeping track of this info is that you might talk to someone now who you may end up crossing paths with again down the road. It’d be useful to have this and any notes/feedback to be able to refer to. It could also be a handy networking tool for the future as well!
The spreadsheet can be nice because you have the option of sorting/organizing and easily customizing your info, but everyone’s preference is different. Do what works for you!
A few suggestions:
-Go old school! Use a notepad.
-Create a separate folder in your PERSONAL email inbox (do not use a work email for job applications!).
-Use a spreadsheet if you want to get fancy!
We have a free basic template available on our resources page for download if you want to make it easy. Feel free to dress it up as you see fit! 😊
